I was very pleased to accept the invitation to judge The Kennel Club
Good Citizen Dog Scheme - Bronze Level, again. I would also
like to thank all the many people who helped me on the day.
BIG THANKS TO ALL.
The weather was very kind to us, and a great range of dogs and handlers entered Good Citizen.
The dogs and handlers taking part in the Scheme had come from far and
wide, including two dogs on holiday from Germany, one of which was an
International Champion. After we got over our langue barriers, Duke
sailed through his test.
The overall standard of dogs and handlers was very good and I was very pleased to see that all dogs had the correct I.D tags, and owners had their poo bags with them. Walk on loose leads on their own, and with other dogs and people, showed a super standard. Recalls where the best I have seen in a long time with the Scheme. With testing being held outside, this exercise can be struggle, but the results, I thought, were great.
A total of 28 dogs were tested, with 13 dogs passing the test. Well done. The 'Stay' exercise was the main reason for most of those deemed 'Not Ready'.
Thank you to all who took part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme, you all helped to make this a great day.
Remember to keep on training.
